Okay, a while back (for my birthday as a matter of fact) I took the plunge and ordered the Das Keyboard Model-S Ultimate because I a) needed a new keyboard and b) hate, loathe, and otherwise despair of every keyboard distributed with a PC in the last 20 years.

Okay, yeah, I feel like posting about the new car! So, I finally found a Corvette in my (well my fathers) price-range and was actually able to get it! So, since a picture is worth a thousand words, here ya go:

In case you're wondering the color is called 'Admiralty Blue' and they only made around 1000 in that color, so I lucked out!

Quick summary for the attention span impaired: The aforementioned pagan temple in upstate New York despite being granted 501(c)3 status by the IRS keeps not having their local tax exemption granted for three years now. The Town of Catskill gives no reason whatsoever why it is not granted, and has been fighting in it court with every technical measure possible, because legally it is a cut and dry case in favor of the Pagans. And

The attorney for the Town admitted in court, on the record, that the real reason for the denials of our property tax exemption ... was to prevent “opening the floodgates to similar groups”.

Uncharted, what giveth?

While I agree with most major gaming sites and give Uncharted: Drake's Fortune a solid 9/10, I do have a few quirks that bug the stew out of me.

Primus: Why, oh why, does the fucking 9mm pistol do more damage per shot than an AK-47? Why? That makes NO SENSE! As a person who owns a similar 9mm and an AK-47 I can say that the AK-47 is a MUCH more powerful firearm. Now you could make some argument that at close quarters the pistol would be a more useful weapon, and depending on the ammo, in CQB it would be more adept, but at range? Sheesh. Next they will introduce the Golden Gun from Goldeneye.

Secundus: Why, oh why, is the combat so tacked on? For such an excellent game and for the excellent platforming exploration bits, does the combat feel so clunky and forced. There were plenty of excellent third person shooters to ~~steal~~ draw inspiration from when the game was being developed. It's not deal-breakingly bad, but you can tell it wasn't a priority.

Tertius: Why, oh why, doesn't Sony playtest their firmware updates? They still haven't fixed the bug that causes the game to crash randomly when the autosave feature (and since you can't disable it saving in general) is on. They say it was fixed, but the latest firmware broke it again.

I know the game came out in 2007? but I only got it last week (the meal tickets only cover so much on any given moment).

Finally at the unceasing insistence of my extraordinarily persistent girlfriend, I now have a DW account with which to wax lyrical about whatever is bugging me at the moment. I shall treasure this moment for the breadth of eternity with breathless jubilation!</sarcasm>

Anyway, seriously, this is to introduce myself and this blog/journal/rave-space. I will probably mostly post idle musings of whatever is angering me at the moment. Like, seriously, why does Uncharted have to freeze constantly when autosave is enabled? Jesus. See? like that.

Personally, I am a vocal neopagan with a very hard polytheist outlook on life; and, it should be mentioned, a deep dislike of a certain dominant monotheism that shall remain nameless and blamed. Christianity cough

I also play way more videogames than anyone really should, and this is exemplified by my ownership of a Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP, N64, GameCube, DS, and a Wiitard. And a absolute ass-load of video-games for all of those and my PC. Yeah. And I use my income as a computer tech to feed my video game cravings, you know, before the shakes set in.

Oh, and to round out the topic list for today, I am a staunch Libertarian with a decided slant towards Anarchist (and no, that's not AntiChrist!). I find both major political parties in the United States to be equally disgusting in their attitudes toward governing and excessive legislation.
